This is an image of a print of a hand coloured engraving by James Sowerby (1757-1822), based on drawing nominally by John White but probably by the convict artist Thomas Watling. It appeared as Tab. XII in James Edward Smith's 1793 A Specimen of the Botany of New Holland. The plant depicted is Pultenaea stipularis.

The accompanying text explains the figure thus:

1. A Leaf with its stipula. 2. Floral leaf and the stipula which accompanies it. 3. Calyx. 4. Its appendages. 5. Standard. 6. A Wing. 7. Keel. 8. Stamina and Pistillum. 9. Pistillum alone. 10. Rudiments of Seeds. 11. Pod inverted with the permanent calyx.
