: Hi. Yes, I did give a reason, and it was written in Waray language. Unfortunately, it seems that you were not able to understand my explanation. Your article does not belong in Waray Wikipedia because it is written in Cebuano language. Moustache Winaray

Hello

Thank you for your help. So, bungot is how you say moustache in Winaray. Is the same word as beard, isn't it?

In this project I'm comparing the vocabulary of body parts in all Austronesian languages as I can. Thus, I reach information about how Austronesian people see the human body. For example, in Winaray there's the same word to say leg and foot (tiíl) because the foot isn't regarded as different from the leg. Though, the leg has different parts, like paa (thigh) and tuhod (knee). What's more, lip in Winaray is im-ím. The form is reduplicated perhaps to do the appearence of a pair of lips.

By the way, lakuplakop (eyelid) is a single root or is composed by laku and lakop?

Andreu

Hi Andreu,
Generally, "bungot" would refer to moustache or goatee and "barbas" would mean beard in Waray. But for some Waray people, "bungot" and "barbas" may mean the same thing, so I must say that I have to be careful to give the precise definition or translation for these words. I have a friend who may be able to help you with your project. His name is Voltaire Oyzon. Here is his email address: v.oyzon@gmail.com. He is a professor at a state university in Tacloban and he has been studying the Waray language and grammar. He authored several books about the subject matter and you may even find some of his works at the Internet.
By the way Andreu, if you don't mind, may I know your nationality?
Regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your answer.

I'm from the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, and I study the bachelor of linguistics at the University of Barcelona. My name, Andreu, is the Catalan version of Andrew. I speak Malay, yes, but I'm not from Malaysia or Indonesia, I learnt it.

Reagards,

Andreu

Andreu, You do have an interesting educational background. I wish you the best for your project. :) --JinJian (hiruhimangraw) 00:13, 1 Mayo 2015 (UTC)[igbaton]

Administrative Rights and Obligations

Hi JinJian,

What does it take to be a Waray Wikipedia.org administrator? What are the obligations and the necessary knowledge and commitment to be one? Then what are its perks? Joshuasevilla (hiruhimangraw) 09:12, 9 Agosto 2015 (UTC)[igbaton]

Sayop na ngaran san municipalidad

Hi JinJian,

There may be errors with the names of the following municipalities in War.Wiki: a) Cabucgayan in Biliran is shown as Cabugcayan b) San Policaripio in Eastern Samar as San Policarpo Joshuasevilla (hiruhimangraw) 18:26, 23 Agosto 2015 (UTC)[igbaton]

Hi Joshuasevilla, I am assuming that you are referring to the article titles of both.
As for Cabucgayan, it is this COMELEC website per this edit that misspelled Cabucgayan as Cabugcayan. The websites of DILG and Philippine Statistics Authority have the same spelling as the title in here.
As for San Policarpo, the spelling is also correct per their website.
You're doing a fine job. Continue editing. Cheers --JinJian (hiruhimangraw) 07:45, 24 Agosto 2015 (UTC)[igbaton]

Hello JinJian

I would like to create Enrique Simonet but unfortunately I cannot speak Waray

I see you did a great job with Francisco Goya and Diego Velázquez, will you please make Enrique Simonet?

Maybe you can copy/translate from Enrique Simonet at Spanish wikipedia or the English version.

Thank you very much

Translation

Hello, could you please translate Automatic refresh (Kusang panariwain) to Winaray, Bân-lâm-gú and Cebuano? Thanks -XQV- (hiruhimangraw) 21:07, 13 Enero 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]

For Winaray, (Lugaring nga nagpapalab-as) or (Lugaring nga nagrerefresh). Note: Between the two, at least for now, I would suggest that you use the latter even if it includes English loanword because it is easier to understand especially to the new users. For Bân-lâm-gú, I am not updated with the writing system of this language so I would rather not translate it. Thanks- JinJian (hiruhimangraw) 01:52, 14 Enero 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]

French communes

Hello JinJian, I'm trying to improve the french communes stub articles by putting (and filling) the infobox and two templates I created. One is giving the demographic evolution since the XVIIIth century and the other is about the neighbouring communes. They both work fine but I really need a name for the § neighbouring communes, without it, it seems weird. Could you please give me the translation in winaray? Thank you very much. Here's an exemple how the articles look now: Yainville. Have a nice day. Birdie (hiruhimangraw) 09:28, 10 Abril 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]

Thank you for your help, it's much better now. I'll ask now how to say "sister cities" and "notable peoples"? Then I'll add new §. Birdie (hiruhimangraw) 22:30, 20 Abril 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]
  1. sister cities -> Mga bugto nga syudad
  2. notable people -> Mga kilalado nga tawo

Thank you so much for your help and corrections, it's nice to have such a kind supervisor. It's difficult to find waray dictionaries online, to understand waray, I use a cebuano dictionary that allows me to understand globaly the sentence. Of course, it doesn't work on the other way as I can't guess the waray translation from a french or english word. I found yanâ there. After checking on the other way, it says it was meaning since and now which are very different meaning for sure. As you corrected Montmorillon, can you please also check Le Grand-Quevilly which is an article where I added a famous people? Thank you, have a nice day. Birdie (hiruhimangraw) 07:06, 27 Abril 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]
(1) In the past, only Tagalog and English languages were taught and promoted in our educational system, so most publications were printed in those languages. It may be one of the reasons why materials about Waray language are relatively difficult to find. (2) With regards to Cebuano and Waray, it is not uncommon to find shared vocabulary, but some words are really different from each other. (3) The edit you made on the article Le Grand-Quevilly looks good to me and I appreciate you helping us. :) JinJian (hiruhimangraw) 08:15, 4 Mayo 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]
Btw, did you notice the "buklara" button doesn't work on the "komyun" box at the bottom right of the articles? Neither the "read" one at the bottom left that opens and closes immediately. Birdie (hiruhimangraw) 07:18, 27 Abril 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]
Those buttons did work in the past. Unfortunately, I could not find a fix for them now. I still have to do some research to make them work properly. JinJian (hiruhimangraw) 08:15, 4 Mayo 2017 (UTC)[igbaton]

Wikipedia PH Month: A Call for Collaboration

Hi!

Wikipedia Philippine Month or simply Wikipedia PH Month is a monthly online event inspired by Wikipedia Asian Month that aims to promote Philippine content in Philippine Wikipedia editions and beyond. Each participating local community runs a monthly online edit-a-thon, which promotes the creation or improvement of the Wikipedia content about a particular group or groups of people in the Philippines and the region they represent. The participating community is not limited to the Philippines. This activity also aims to encourage collaboration among Filipino contributors within the archipelago and in the diaspora and to create linkages among Filipino and non-Filipino contributors who support the main objective.

If you have any thoughts about this project, kindly share it in the talk page. --Filipinayzd (hiruhimangraw) 19:35, 27 Abril 2020 (UTC)[igbaton]

Hi. Yes, I did give a reason, and it was written in Waray language. Unfortunately, it seems that you were not able to understand my explanation. Your article does not belong in Waray Wikipedia because it is written in Cebuano language. Both Waray and Cebuano languages might share some vocabulary, but they are for most of the time, not mutually comprehensible. JinJian (hiruhimangraw) 11:04, 1 Hulyo 2020 (UTC)[igbaton]
