Mostly near Port Boisé; eight discrete sub-populations are known within an area of less than 2 km² (Waters et al., 2002). Recently confirmed and collected from Cap Reine Charlotte, a few km ENE from Port Boisé (M. F. Gardner et al., TNCA 3087, 4013, November 2002, E). Collections of this species from a stand more distant from the coast in a locality known as Forêt Nord were made by Tim Waters (e.g. T. Waters 188, January 2001, FHO, K, P). Attempts by one of us (AF) in November 2005 to find this stand failed; substantial road works and activities related to nickel mining were evident in the area and the tiny population may have disappeared. This species was also found planted in two other localities around the Plaine des Lacs (see collections cited).. TDWG: 60 NWC".
